Kennedy Funding Invitational

June 29, 2010 03:47 PM
Building on the tradition established by tennis greats Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, and John McEnroe, the 5th Annual Kennedy Funding Invitational is back with a vengeance for 2010!
An expanded Women’s Tournament is expected to be a highlight, as top female players from around the world will seek to take the crown from 2009 sensation Melanie Oudin.
Soon after her KFI victory last year, Melanie went on to capture the hearts of millions and shock the world at the US Open. With dramatic upset wins over 3 top seeds, Melanie became the youngest Grand Slam quarterfinalist since Serena Williams in 1999.
In men’s action, Dudi Sela looks to continue his momentum after his upset victory of Andy Roddick at the Aegon Championships in Queens, NY. While Invitational veteran Michael Russell returns along with other highly ranked players to via for the 2010 title.
Started in 2006 as a tribute to a family friend who lost her fight against breast cancer, The Kennedy Funding Invitational has grown into one of the nation’s premier charitable tennis events. In just four short years, the tournament has donated over $3 million to The Leslie Simon Breast Care and Cytodiagnosis Center at Englewood Hospital and The Breast Care Center at Nyack Hospital.
This year’s event, held on July 7 – 11 at Dellwood Country Club in New City, NY, promises to be even bigger and better than ever. Admission is FREE, so come out and support the fight against breast cancer. For more information, please visit
