2010-2011 Eastern Adult Tennis Foundation Grant Application

May 2, 2010 10:05 PM

The Eastern Adult Tennis Foundation (EATF), a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization, was created to bring attention and financial aid to a wide range of tennis programs.  The adult population we serve includes underserved adults, wheelchair and adaptive tennis programs in the USTA Eastern Section.  The EATF offers grants to help local non-profit organizations such as community tennis associations to initiate or expand their tennis activities. Grants may be used to support these instructional programs.  The Foundation’s long-term goal is to help programs become self-sufficient.

The following grant guidelines will be helpful in preparing your application:

  • The sponsoring organization or program must be a USTA Organization member prior to receiving funding.
  • If the program is operated by a Park and Recreation Department or other non-profit agency, every effort should be made by the agency to allocate necessary funds into the tennis budget in future years.
  • The program director must fill out and return the EATF accountability form within 1 month of program completion. This is especially important to be eligible for future grants.
  • Any adult program registration fee should be reasonable to encourage participation and be affordable for families in the community.  We encourage programs to provide provisions for interested participants who lack funds.
  • Grants from $250 to $2500 will be awarded to cover instructors, court time, and equipment for programs that take place between Sept., 2010-Aug., 2011.
